… joyously unrestrained and enthusiastic. Who comes to mind? Clearly not a word that fits the majority. A special word indeed. But a friend and client clearly thought this was the best word to give in appreciation for an act of hospitality. We don’t use italics often, but Exuberant called for it.
By the time the official flood warning had woken Margaret Sunday morning, I had been trying to keep the basement semi-dry. Can’t say my attempt was successful, but it also led to lots of water being bucketed to the drain in the far corner of the basement. I will head down with some hydraulic cement to plug some holes in our stone foundation.
Never expecting a desert down there, but this spring has been wetter than normal. Clearly did not build an exuberant spirit.
And yet, I consider all the drops of water that this old house has fought off over the years, and for that I am grateful. I may not be the most exuberant dude in town, but I do feel Ia am often grateful often; and it did help when friends and fans showed up with this for our open studio food drive:
