The client commissioned it for her husband’s birthday and involved having to divert him from a trip to a big box store to buy numbers, and stall until the sign was done. The client chose the Chocolate Colorway because she wanted something elegant enough to fit into her development, but with enough sparkle to keep her and her husband happy: deep brown glass with subtle variegation, copper accents and aventurine swirled tiles around the border. The glass mosaic sign measures 16×8 inches, on Pennsylvania slate. Recently, the client wrote that the sign looked every bit as beautiful as when they installed it 4 years ago.
