The client wanted a special gift to give to his wife for their 25th wedding anniversary. He and Wayne sent a flurry of emails back and forth working on the heart design, and it evolved into this graceful ribbon that incorporated the ampersand sign. The client envisioned golden sand and the blue greens of the south seas, in a favorite place for he and his wife. Wayne cut the heart and letters out of a translucent amber glass, and I applied a coating of pearlized white paint to give it a glow coming from underneath. Mixing blues and greens, I gave the heart a background of impressionistic fields of color. His wife loved it. Recently, the client dropped by to pick up a gift for someone, and told us again how much he enjoys looking at the heart.
